FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL IN DOUGLAS COUNTY

Fellow Neighbors – we’ve had numerous complaints about fireworks within and nearby our neighborhood. You are urged to call the Douglas County Police department if you witness fireworks being utilized, especially if you smell smoke. We do not want our neighborhood to be threatened by unnecessary and avoidable man-made forest fire.

“Fireworks that leave the ground are illegal in Douglas County, Colorado, including both incorporated and unincorporated areas. This prohibition aligns with Colorado state law, which bans fireworks that explode or leave the ground, such as bottle rockets, roman candles, and firecrackers .

In unincorporated Douglas County, violating this law is considered a Class 3 misdemeanor, punishable by fines ranging from $50 to $750 and/or up to six months in jail .”
