Hidden Village Paving Communication from Douglas County Public Works Operations
Manager as of 1/8/26:

“Our gravel road paving funds for this year have been reduced. Presently no roads in Hidden
Village are approved for paving. As we progress into the new year we are continuing to seek
possible funding from other related funds. New for this year we are in the process to build a
public site that will show the status of gravel road paving throughout the county. This will
include survey results, paving schedule and other related information.”

The Ramblewood Developers hired a company to perform a survey of the HOA common area a week and a half ago. This comes after the HOA was approached for a proposed sewage line through the common area near Village Rd. & Alpine Dr. Legal consultation was obtained by the HV Board to discuss the neighborhood’s options, compensation, and assist in communicating with the developers. Although the process is in early stages and no actions are confirmed, it was recommended to work with the developers in good faith as the alternative was likely to be eminent domain. The board is sensitive to this project’s potential impacts and restoration of the area. 

We acknowledge that there are likely questions surrounding this topic and wanted to proactively communicate known information. The board will continue to communicate any updates via email and look forward to the opportunity to discuss further information and gain your feedback at the next general meeting on May 3rd.

Additionally, Ramblewood will be hosting a Zoom webinar on Tuesday, February 17th at 6pm prior to the hearing dates for approval of their preliminary plan. The link to join the meeting can be found here: https://norris-design.zoom.us/s/99447141124 The agenda for the meeting will include an update on the preliminary plan, sanitary sewer alignment, and overall timing. 

A friendly reminder, the neighborhood speed limit exists for the safety of all of our Hidden Village friends and families! There have been numerous complaints coming into the board about folks ignoring the speed limits, and not just young drivers – but residents who have lived here awhile! With the washboard state of the roads, excessive speeds can be very dangerous. This is even more so if you are trailering a camper or work trailer. Please slow down and be courteous to your fellow neighbor.

Neighbors, please remind anyone in your family or friends circle in our neighborhood that may ride an Electric Dirt bike or a Non-Licensed Motorcycle that those are illegal to ride on on our open spaces (near the arena, kitty corner to the arena, any of our hiking paths, etc).

Also note – there has been a group of riders coming into our neighborhood from other neighborhoods that have been caught in our open spaces and on our paths. The Douglas County Police Department needs to be notified AS this is happening and cannot do much after the event – they asked us to notify them AS it is occurring. 303.660.7505

​Fellow Neighbors – we’ve had numerous complaints about fireworks within and nearby our neighborhood. You are urged to call the Douglas County Police department if you witness fireworks being utilized, especially if you smell smoke. We do not want our neighborhood to be threatened by unnecessary and avoidable man-made forest fire.

“Fireworks that leave the ground are illegal in Douglas County, Colorado, including both incorporated and unincorporated areas. This prohibition aligns with Colorado state law, which bans fireworks that explode or leave the ground, such as bottle rockets, roman candles, and firecrackers .​

In unincorporated Douglas County, violating this law is considered a Class 3 misdemeanor, punishable by fines ranging from $50 to $750 and/or up to six months in jail .​”
